The Priest's Children / Svećenikova djeca (Croatian, 2013, comedy) - a young priest takes a new position on a Croatian island faced with declining birth rates and depopulation. In order to hide this from his wife and superiors he makes up a story about an imminent Albanian attack and turns the border post on lockdown until his 3-week penicilin treatment is over. The Border Post / Karaula (Croatian-Serbian-Macedonian, 2006, comedy-drama) - commander of a border post on the Yugoslav-Albanian border gets syphilis from a local prostitute. kinda? Really heavy stuff but I consider it one of the best Croatian movies ever. Some people call it "Croatian Trainspotting" and I mean. Follows a group of friends (friends? depends on how you define it) and their problems: a war veteran turned violent football hooligan, a veteran turned drunk, a junkie, and an ex-junkie. Metastaze (Croatian, 2009, drama) - drama about the Zagreb underclass created by the war and transition. Probably a lot more good movies since we have a pretty established film industry, but that's all i remembered for now

Parada - a movie about a Serbian war veteran having to organize security for an LGBT pride Parade, helping him are an Albanian,Croat and Muslim due to some events. One of the recent favorites and probably the most successful movie is Juzni Vetar, a crime drama/action that was pretty well recieved by everyone and it's the first true action film we had. Not really a good movie but it's campy and fun, Satans warrior (Sejtanov ratnik) a horror comedy movie. (drama,adventure) Clip - again, youth growing up in Belgrade but this time in the 2000s (drama) Skinning - movie about Skinheads, basically American history X. Mrtav Ladan - transporting a corpse goes wrong (comedy) Kad Porastem, Bicu Kengur - multiple stories that happen in Belgrade (comedy) Montevideo, Bog te video - Yugoslav national team going on one of the first football cups in the world. (drama) Anything by Kusturica, really (drama/comedy) Underground is a good one as well.
Rane (The Wounds) - about youth growing up in 90s Belgrade. 20 years is quite a bit of time but i mostly known Serbian movies:
